Each of us has a deep desire to be connected to others, which directly impacts our mental, emotional, and physical health when connections are toxic. If you have experienced rejection, disappointment, abandonment, trauma or neglect especially early in life you may have learned to survive, but not thrive. This may leave you experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, or problems with intimacy. Many people attempt to cope with these feelings by using drugs, alcohol, prescription pills, food, anger, self-harm or other addictive behaviors. My hope is to help individuals identify how these coping strategies develop early in early life and become barriers to living well.

An area of focus I have is adults with Aspergers (now called Autism) or who think they may have gone undiagnosed. Skills to manage and navigate relationships, work stress, sensory overload and/or anxiety are needed by many.

I also have been trained as a Career Counselor to assist people needing career transition due to life change or disabilities to identify vocational skills and interests. I utilize a variety of models to facilitate the counseling process including mindfulness, Attachment models, IPNB, DBT skills, NVC, ACT, SAMHSA Recovery model, and humor. I have a deep respect for each person’s pursuit of spirituality and practice a walk of faith of my own.

Areas of experience:

  • Depression / Anxiety / Bipolar Disorder / Hearing voices
  • Substance abuse/ Dual-Diagnosis
  • Learning disabilities & Aspergers Syndrome (I can help determine if undiagnosed)
  • Grief & Loss
  • Individuals or couples adjusting to illness or disability of a family member
  • Self-Esteem / persistent negative thinking
  • Workplace Concerns / Career transition / Job development

I do not charge for an initial 30 minute consultations. If an ongoing relationship is established I charge $100 per session. I do not take insurance, but can bill out-of-network. I’m glad to discuss sliding scale options. Because I am connected to a network of counselors if a referral is needed I would be more than willing to help you find the right fit as you move forward in your healing process.
