Treatment Philosophy: I believe in empowering my clients towards helping them in realizing their goals or finding their true selves. I use a humanistic approach that I couple with cognitive behavioral, problem solving, and solution focused ideals to help achieve desired outcomes. Together we will explore the mastery of new skill sets to help overcome life’s challenges. While at the same time honestly and respectfully investigating personal beliefs to create change or invigorate clients in their daily lives. This is an adventure that can lead to the discovery of ones unique self and bringing new awareness into the context in which we live.
I’m pleased to work with individual adults, young adult and youth, from age 12.
Education and Training: I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California with a concentration in mental health and a sub-concentration of military and military families. I am also a certified by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers as a Clinical Social Work Associate. Paul M. Rakoczy LCSW, CADC III, directly supervises me as I am working toward licensure. I also have certified training in Problem Solving therapy and Motivational interviewing from USC as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy from MUSC.edu.
