I believe that people have an unlimited capacity for change and growth throughout the course of their lifetime. As a therapist, my job is to meet you where you are in the therapeutic process, to support you, and provide tools to assist in navigating obstacles as they arise in our work together.
Part of that process involves checking in with you to see what is working for you in our meeting together and what is not, so we can work together and find solutions.
Some areas of specialization include providing trauma informed care, working with at-risk populations, assisting families in working through the grief process, as well as providing couples therapy. I obtained a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a program emphasis on cultural competence. My work experience includes working for the State of Texas for a period of five years where I trained new staff. I have also worked with hospice and home health agencies.
My theory base and treatment approaches are: Solution Focused, Strengths Based, Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Mindfulness, Bibliotherapy, as well as Motivational Interviewing.
I see individual adults, adolescents, and couples and I am LGBTQ friendly.
