One of the most important qualities in a counselor is relatability.  Being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease has helped me look for  balance in life while learning to set/keep boundaries. Additionally, I have over 25 years of working at various roles with children and families. These roles include middle school teacher, play therapist for Head Start, public health worker, and health advocate.

Speciality areas include chronic illness, depression, anxiety, trauma, fear, shame, grief, parenting/blended family issues and mid-life transitions.

My approach is attachment based. We look at family patterns, (through a genogram), identify boundaries, and together design a treatment plan. As needed, I will utilize other modalities that match your strengths. I am trained in cognitive behavior therapy, solution based therapy, emotional focused therapy, child centered play therapy, mindfulness techniques, emotional freedom techniques (tapping), and other holistic therapies.

I received my Master’s Degree in Marriage, Child, and Family Counseling from George Fox University and have my Nationally Certified Counselor’s license. I offer a 15 minute free consultation and offer a sliding scale as needed.  I accept cash and hope to be an Oregon Health Care Provider soon.
