For most of my life, I supported and played a care taking role in my family.
When illness strikes a family member, it has a ripple effect upon the family
system as well as the member who is sick. I have personal as well as
specialized training in working with individuals/couples/families/children
that are impacted with chronic illness; especially auto-immune disease.
I particularly enjoy working with parents/couples that have children with
special needs, divorce and other life challenges. I help parents strategize and
resource their abilities within the education system along with offering them
training in Child-Parent-Relationship (Play Therapy). Play therapy is an

I have a Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling from
George Fox University and over 25 years’ experience with culturally diverse
children and their families. Experiences include: worked with drug affected
youth in treatment settings; taught middle school in Houston, Texas;
volunteered on a crisis/suicidal hotline, advocated for special needs children
in the educational and medical system, and counseled traumatized youth in
the foster care system.
Additionally, I embrace a holistic way of living including yoga, meditation, and
clean eating that are incorporated into the treatment plan. My latest
experience includes becoming a stepmom and learning how to balance being
part of a blended family.
My standard fee for a 50 minute session is $75.00. I do provide a generous
sliding scale fee options for those in financial need. I do not accept insurance at this
