Welcome and congratulations on taking the first step to seeking counseling! As a counselor, my upbringing and education has taught me to truly see things from another view and perspective. I grew up overseas immersed in a completely different culture, and I learned skills and picked up on social nuances within mental health that greatly apply to the therapeutic setting. I take into consideration your cultural and social background and understand that every client I see is different and comes with different life experiences, challenges, and viewpoints.
If you’re going through a life transition, whether it be moving to Portland from within or outside of the country, starting university or living on your own for the first time, experiencing a new phase in your career or going through a transitional period within your personal relationships, I can provide you with the care and compassion needed during such a time.
Many of us substitute or mask feelings or life events (past and present) by using substances or other compulsive behaviors (such as shopping, internet, sex, gambling, video games, etc.) to avoid pain. My experiences have prepared me to help, to offer compassion and to truly listening to how it has been for you. Together, we will discover tools and strategies to help you make the changes you desire.
I feel very confident treating many forms of anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. While my modality is “eclectic”, which means I draw from many forms of therapy based on your needs, I often draw upon Mindfulness practices and client-centered approaches to ensure we stay in the present moment, give pause before action and stay on a path of healing at your pace. With 17 years of meditation experience, I have seen myself the benefits in many populations, including evidence in many scientific publications.
Lastly, therapy is a process in which you will experience growth and healing through the work both you and I put in. We all have had experiences in life that can affect our emotions, actions, and relationships, and figuring out and working through these at your pace can lead to letting go of deep emotions or past experiences you may not even consciously be aware of.
I offer affordable counseling pricing to ensure that finances do not have an impact on your quality of care.
To schedule a free 15 minute in person consultation that can turn into a first session if we agree to move forward, please call 248-872-6772 or email me at: Jessica.Piziali.Counseling@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you and I wish you the best on your path towards healing.
