Picking a therapist can feel overwhelming. What if I choose the wrong one? How will I know?
One important quality to look for in a counselor is the ability to truly see things from your point of view. While I have 16 years of education in Psychology, Social Sciences and Counseling, it is my personal experience which has given me the deepest connections. I believe we know best those things we’ve learned through our own life experience.
I see couples, families, and individuals, and specialize in helping with anxiety, depression, fear, isolation, trauma, and transition. As your counselor, I will be fully engaged in the work with you ~ helping you to discover answers and solutions you need to find.
Using an “eclectic” approach, I draw from several counseling modalities to best meet your needs. I am experienced in the areas of family and couples therapy, children, marriage, divorce and mediation, domestic violence, blended families, child custody, adolescence issues, resolution of family problems, family life transitions, attachment, grief, and loss.
My Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling was completed at Portland State University and I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I have certificates in Victim’s Assistance Training, as well as a certificate of completion for training with the Oregon Youth Authority. I have worked extensively with at-risk young people in public, as well as in Juvenile Detention school settings and I’ve taught and worked extensively with children of all ages.
I am devoted to offering affordable services, so please do not let financial strain be a barrier. I look forward to hearing from you!
