My areas of expertise include compulsive and problematic sexual behaviors, problems with pornography, adults with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders, histories of trauma and PTSD, relationship problems, and difficulties managing emotions. I enjoy working with people around issues of identity, including sexual and gender identity, and life transitions.
I work with clients to help them learn the skills and tools to change unhealthy behavior, learn positive ways of coping with their emotions, and lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Therapy combines work on a client’s personal history to understand the origins and patterns of unwanted behavior, with the development of a toolbox of skills to form new, healthier habits. This approach facilitates both short-term relief, and long-term positive change.
The therapeutic relationship is at the core of all that I do. Therapy is most effective when clients experience safety, respect, and understanding. My approach is both non-judgmental and challenging, encouraging clients to live in a manner that aligns with their core values. You can expect a collaborative relationship where you are valued as a unique individual with your own wants, needs, and story to tell.
